A permanent full-time opportunity has become available with Australia’s largest and most respected meat and food producer in Australia. As a self-insured employer in Queensland, we are seeking your personal injury claims experience to work within the workers compensation team.
Duties include:
- Determine and gather information needed in managing common law claims.
- Decide common law claims in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Preparation for court matters, collating briefs to counsel, drafting various documents, and making arrangements for conferences.
- Liaising with internal and external parties to source relevant evidence.
- Ensure claim outcomes meet company objectives and are cost effective.
- Related administrative duties including processing of invoices, data entry and file management.
- Keeping up to date with case law and precedents affecting claims and the scheme.
- Providing practical technical advice about strategic management, both generally and in relation to specific claims.
- Providing assistance with advice and/or drafting of legal notices and correspondence.
- Associated duties as required, working as an integral member of the Workers Compensation Department.
To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate:
- Previous experience in personal injury claims with a knowledge of Workers Compensation claims.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook and confidence learning new technology.
- Strong customer service focus with a proven ability to respond calmly to a difficult conversation.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to organise your workload to meet competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate keyboarding skills.
Experience in an aligned Legal Claims Advisor role preferred, however, if you are looking to step up and have had some exposure to personal injury claims, training and development will be provided to support your career development as a Legal Claims Advisor.
