Top Office Group has provided temporary staffing resources to Community Recovery (the Queensland Government department responsible for providing human and social recovery support to Queenslanders impacted by disasters) during every major event in Queensland since 2011. During our bushfire and cyclone/storm season, we may be called upon at short notice to provide temporary staffing resources for Statewide Operations in Brisbane (or at outreach centres in affected areas around SE Queensland) for roles including:
- AO4 Grants Processing Officer
- AO4 Administration Officer
- AO4 Call Team Officer (call centre environment)
- AO4 Timesheet and Travel Claims Officer
- AO4 Executive Support Officer
Due to the nature of the work, it is difficult to forecast requirements, however, we anticipate that temporary staffing support may be required if Queensland is faced with a major bushfire, cyclone or flood event and in this situation, temporary assignment requests are often at very short notice (starting either same day or next day). To ensure that we are ready to support Queensland Government if and when needed, we are currently seeking expressions of interest for the 2025/2026 season and whilst we understand that your availability may change, we appreciate you confirming your interest based on your current availability.
When we receive a temporary assignment request, we do look for aligned experience to suit the nature of the role, however, many of these roles share common requirements, including administration experience and the ability to work as part of a high performing team within an open-plan office environment (using an ergonomic computer workstation and telephone headset), together with:
- Experience and ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven office environment.
- A proven ability to use (and adapt to new) technology quickly and demonstrate fast and accurate data entry skills.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of empathy, active listening skills and resilience when responding to enquiries from Queenslanders impacted by disaster.
- Team player approach with the ability and confidence to learn and master new administration and call skills quickly.
- Availability to commence at short notice.
The anticipated duration of temporary assignments can range depending on the nature and extent of the event, however, we seek availability to be rostered to work five casual shifts/week between Monday and Sunday (overtime penalties apply when rostered outside of ordinary hours). Due to the nature and responsibilities of the role, consent to a national criminal history check is also required if you accept a temporary assignment working on-site at Community Recovery.
If you are available to commence at short notice and interested in joining our temporary team at Community Recovery, please apply today!!
We look forward to hearing from you regarding you expression of interest!
