Join a dynamic community engagement team with a local government department located in Ipswich. You’ll plan, deliver, and evaluate engagement initiatives, provide advice on best practice strategies, and represent the organisation on collaborative projects. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, support high-quality engagement, and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver community engagement advice, support, and activities in collaboration with the team.
- Communicate project progress and successes, and gather community feedback where appropriate.
- Represent the organisation on projects, supporting planning, monitoring, reporting, communications, and change management.
- Provide advice and support on engagement planning, design, delivery, reporting, and evaluation.
- Build effective engagement skills and capabilities across the organisation, including supporting training initiatives.
- Identify and analyse key stakeholders and communication channels to standardise and improve communications.
- Assist in addressing sensitive issues impacting the organisation’s relationship with stakeholders.
To be considered for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate;
- Relevant professional qualification or substantial experience in community relations, media, corporate communications, or marketing.
- Current Class ‘C’ driver’s licence.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Empathetic and approachable, with a genuine interest in engaging and understanding community needs.
Initially this role is until October 2026 however may have the potential for further extensions beyond this.
