  • Hours: 8:00am to 4:06pm Monday to Friday (Term Time - 40 weeks - additonal weeks maybe required)

We are seeking a permanent School Receptionist for a fast-paced co-educational school in Plainland who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and supporting a vibrant school community. This is a permanent, full-time role working term time (40 weeks), with the ability to work additional weeks if required. The role operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:06pm.

As the first point of contact for the School, the Receptionist plays a key role in creating a warm, professional, and inclusive first impression. You will engage with students, families, staff, prospective families, and visitors, ensuring all interactions—whether in person, by phone, or via email—are handled with warmth, efficiency, and discretion.

This role is central to supporting effective communication across the School and upholding its reputation as a caring, inclusive, and student-focused education environment.

You will join a supportive and close-knit administration team, where your calm, organised, and professional approach will enable you to thrive in a fast-paced reception environment as the face and voice of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors professionally, sign them in, and notify relevant staff members
  • Answer, direct, and respond to phone and email enquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain a tidy, organised, and welcoming reception area
  • Sort, distribute, and manage incoming mail and deliveries
  • Administer first aid and medication in accordance with school procedures and policies
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to the broader office team as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist, front office, or customer service role
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced reception environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment
  • A professional, friendly, and discreet approach
  • Current Working with Children (Employee) Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
