An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and reliable Boilermaker or 1st Class Welder to join a well-established South East Queensland civil contractor based in Ipswich.
For more than 50 years, our client has delivered major bulk earthworks and industrial site development projects across South East Queensland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled tradesperson to join their busy workshop, maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment.
This is a hands-on role offering variety, stability, and the opportunity to work with quality machinery in a well-equipped workshop.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair and fabricate components for heavy earthmoving equipment and attachments.
- Carry out MIG and Stick welding, gouging, cutting, grinding and fabrication work.
- Operate workshop machinery and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Complete job cards, maintenance records and timesheets accurately.
- Support apprentices and other workshop personnel when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop while following all WHS policies and procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or demonstrated experience as a 1st Class Welder.
- Proven experience working on heavy earthmoving, mining, quarry or civil equipment.
- Strong MIG and Stick welding and general fabrication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Reliable, self-motivated and safety-focused.
- Current driver’s licence
